Accessibility - Each of the major categories of disabilities (visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive) require certain types of modifications when designing web content. To meet government accessibility requirements, digital services must meet Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG2.1) as a minimum.
Accordion - Used to manage large sets of content and navigation lists.
Admin User - A local site admin who can add and remove users within the website. Specific permission can be created for users dependent on the type of work the user needs to carry out, this may mean adding a user to a group so a set access level can be inherited.
Administrator Mode - This is how we refer to the website once an Admin has signed in. See our guide if you are unsure How to Login
Advanced Table List - A clear way to display your site documents. Your content can then be drawn onto a page via a Local Collection Index.
A&E Live Waits - A plugin that displays a list of hospitals that have A&E or MIU departments. The list includes live information on waiting times, number of patients waiting, and opening hours so that people viewing the site can make an informed decision when choosing which hospital to attend.
Age Validation in Forms - When users complete your site forms you may wish to use age verification to check the user's date of birth is between a lower and upper age limit.
Alt Text - Plays a vital role in web accessibility by ensuring that visually impaired users can still access the information conveyed by images. Screen Readers and other accessibility tools use this descriptive text to provide a clear understanding of what an image represents.
Analytics - Google Analytics can provide insights into user behaviour, popular pages, and areas for improvement, helping you refine your SEO strategy.
Anchor Links - A way for a users to link directly to content within a page, these can be used by adding HTML to your page.
Asset Bucket - A means to file together related content so it's easy for admin users to store and locate their content.
Associated Image - A specific image type. Users can choose where or not to show the Associated Image on the page. Associated images are used as preview images if the page is used elsewhere. E.g. Carousel/Box Block etc
Audio Player - A layout that will allow Admins to upload and display Audio Files in a clear format.
Automatic Corresponding Content - A plugin that helps organisations adhere to the Welsh Language Standards and ensure that the equivalent Welsh language content is created to match all English language content.
A - Z Collection - A block that can be found within the Collections Plugin. Once this is dragged to a chosen area, admins can then add content via a Local Index List. This list will then auto-populate the A-Z Block with all links added automatically.
A - Z Controller - Allows you to display an A-Z list of Anchors and Bookmarks within a page.
B
Back End - This is the area of your website that can only be seen once you have logged in as an Admin, and selected the Tree View Icon. This area can't be seen or accessed by visitors to your site
Beautified Container - A Beautified Container can be used to customise the look of how certain items appear on the page.
Box Block - A layout that allows you to display previews of multiple pages together. This works by pulling through the associated image and summary.

Call to Action - A plugin can be used to display messages to your users.
Carousel - This is a type of Plugin that scrolls through multiple items of content; provided that these contain images. A visitor can scroll through these and select items to 'step into'. Creating a Carousel
Categories - By categorising content, you can create unique collection indexes of content items that you can use throughout various sections of your site to highlight content.
Change Set - A way of publishing a large number of content items onto your website at once. This is useful for campaigns/events, you could use a Change Set when you have lots of pages and images go live at once.
CK Editor - A rich text editor which enables writing content directly inside of web pages or online applications. The CK Text Editor within the CMS offers a variety of tools to help manage and format content effectively.
CMS Reports - Website Reports that are available to the local site admins upon request or through the Plugin panel. These reports are designed to aid the local site admins in auditing, maintaining and updating their site content.
Collection - Contains a number of Layouts to help organise and display content on your webpage.
Comments Form - A function is available within the System Plugin. When placed on a Folder this allows the users to make and respond to comments on the content within the Folder e.g. News Items.
Component - A block of content, that you can create once using the CK Editor and then use in multiple locations.
Contact Cards - Contain contact details that can be placed anywhere within the website's content.
Container - A Container is used to hold selected content items.
Content Collections (formerly known as Local Index) - A collection of items grouped together to be used by something else. E.g. A Folder of pages would be added to a Content Collection in order to be used by the Carousel and other layouts
Content Rater - Allows users to rate the contents on any page of your site by way of a 5-star review system.
Cookie Control - A tool designed to manage consent for your website's cookies, it stops cookies being placed on a user’s device until they give explicit consent.
Countdown Timer - If you have a big event happening in your surgery or hospital, you may want to consider adding a dynamic Tick Counter to your site.
Cross Site Search - A layout that can be added to any page within your site and primarily provides a way of sending search text to search pages on other websites.

Dashboard - Allows Site Admins to view various metrics associated with the website. Once enabled on your website, the Dashboard will open automatically when accessing the backend Tree View.
Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) - Is a process to help you identify and minimise the data protection risks on your website. It is good practice to do a DPIA for tools such as Feedback Forms that require the processing of personal data, also for processing that is likely to result in risk to individuals.
Display Regions - Your site page is separated into a number of Regions. The main contents of your page should be entered into the ‘Body’ Region. The Top Row, Main Content & Bottom Row are areas to be used when you wish other pages to inherit the content.
Directory of Services (DoS) - The Directory of Services (DoS) plugin is used to display information about primary & secondary care services such as GP practices, Dental practices, and Hospitals.

eConsult Banner - The eConsult Banner is for the use of GP Practices to display to their users/patients.
Edit Layout - Is a type of Editing state available, that allows you to Edit the site whilst still seeing what your users will see. This Edit also allows you access to the site Plugins, allowing you to Drag and Drop them to your page. Edit Layout Explained
Editor Permissions - Editors can be responsible for Creating, Updating, Publishing, and Deleting any and all content in their specific area.
Email Validation in Forms - When having users complete your site forms you may wish to use email confirmation to confirm the user is adding the correct email address.
Embed Content - A plugin that allows you to embed content from other hosting sites such as Instagram and Vimeo to your website using embed codes or iFrames.
Events Calendar - A Calendar Content Type can be used to display your upcoming Events.

Facebook Feed - This Social Board plugin allows you to add direct feeds from any Facebook account. This can be useful to give your site visitors up-to-date information and help to drive traffic to your social media accounts.
Filter By Category - Content administrators can use this feature to present their content from different categories and display them in one place without juggling between different pages.
Form - Useful in a website for collecting data from site users and are often included in sites as Contact forms or Feedback forms.
Footer Links - Appear along the bottom of your page.
Friendly URLs - When creating content, the length of your page URL will depend on where in your structure your page has been created. This functionality will allow Admins to create their own shortened Friendly URLs for their content.
Front End - This is the publicly visible area of your website

Gallery - A way of showing off multiple images as a collection/slideshow. A visitor can scroll through all of the different images and read the text that is attached to each image. Creating a Gallery
Google Analytics - A web analytics service that provides statistical data on website usage.
Google Maps - A Google Map Plugin can be added to any page of your site and is a quick and easy way to display your location to your users.
Google Tag Manager - A tag management system that lets you configure and deploy tags on your website or mobile app, from an easy-to-use web interface.
Grid Layout - Allows you to display previews of multiple pages together by pulling through the associated image and summary.

Header Links - Appear on the top right side of your page.
Horizontal Rule - This plugin will allow you to add formatted line breaks between pieces for your content. This will allow you to better format your pages in order to display content to your users.

Image Plugin - Can be used to add any image to your website page directly from the File Manager or the Associated Image. You can search for any previously uploaded image within your site and choose the required size, then use the Style Tab to format the image further.
Inbuilt Layout Accessibility Checker - A settings option that will allow site admins to compare the colours that they are using and will provide a result as to whether or not these colours meet web accessibility standards.
Information Banner - A way to display a flash of important information to your site users.
Inheritance Rules - Content placed in the Top or Bottom Rows or the Main Content Row of a parent page can be inherited through to the child pages below. Site Inheritance can be used to pull content from the Homepage into all child pages in the site.
Interactive PDFs - A plugin that will allow Admins to embed an Interactive PDF within a page. This will allow users to select the PDF, edit it as they see fit and then download their new bespoke copy of the PDF; without affecting the original copy.

Links Organiser - Allows you to link through to multiple pages. This is done by content drawn in through a Collection Index.

Module Templates - A tab that allows users to save a site Plugin as customised content.
Multi Content - A layout designed to display previews of multiple pages together.
Multi Point Map - A plugin which can be added to any page of your site which is a quick and easy way to display locations to your users.

Navigation - A plugin that allows you more control in helping your website's users navigate around your website.
Navigational Bar - Is present across all sites. The items that appear on the navigational bar are the child items of the home page. When you hover over any of these items a secondary navigational bar will appear; displaying the child items inside of each of the navigational items.
News Feed - A plugin that can be used to keep visitors of your site up to date with important information.

Page Mapping - Once you have created a new page, If you have a Welsh version of your site it is then necessary to Map these pages together. If you are not using the site's automatic translation function then you would need to manually create this via page mapping.
Page Notifications - Can be used to aid site Admins, Editors & Authors in managing the life cycle of your website content.
Password Protection - Allows you to control who can see content by restricting permissions. This is useful if you wish to protect content, giving only specific users access.
PDF Viewer - A plugin that allows Admins to embed a PDF within a page.
Permission Groups - Specific permission sets created by a site admin that allows users to edit or publish content in some areas but not in others.
Plugin - An item that has been programmed to carry out a specific task. An example is the YouTube plugin which allows the display of YouTube content. These are found whilst in the inline edit. There is a toolbar on the right side of the screen where plugins can be dragged and dropped onto the page.
Profile Page - A layout which will give admin users the ability to display all Profile Cards on a single page, with the ability to then click into the full Profile Page.

Related Content - An item that is added to the back end of a page; that can then be used by that page. E.g. Galleries are added as Related Content
Related Content Grid - A series of images and text that are used to show previews of pages.
Re-Order Content - Allows you to change your uploaded contents position within your site structure.
Resource Hub - Allows users to filter the content displayed by any categories the content has been marked with.
Restricted Access - Allows you to control who can see your items by restricting permissions. This is useful if you are updating an item and only want certain people to see it.
RSS Feed - A function that will allow you to draw in the RSS News Feed of another organisation. This can be used to keep visitors of your site up to date with important information.

Search Engine Optimisation - A set of actions you can take to help improve your website visibility and ranking in organic search engines results.
Schedule Content - A a feature of the CMS you are able to set scheduling as to when items are displayed on your website daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
Screen Reader - An accessibility function that can be added to any page of your website.
Shared Component - A function that allows site admins to draw in specific pieces of content; that the CMS Support Team provided and manage.
Share/Social Bar - Allows site visitors the ability to share your pages with other people through social media or email.
Single Content - A layout that can be added to any page on your site to provide a way of linking to and bringing attention to a single piece of content elsewhere on your site.
Site Documents List - Is designed to help your users navigate your site by having a full view of all of the documents held within your site.
Site Map - A plugin designed to help both users and search engines navigate your website.
Social Board - A plugin that allows you to add direct feeds from any Facebook or Twitter account.
Style Tab - Allows you to further format and customise your content blocks. You can do this by choosing Module and/or Content; each of these will customise different areas of your content.
SVG File Type - A SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) file is a graphics file type used for rendering two-dimensional images on the internet.
System Plugin - Allows you access to add a number of site features to your site such as a Site Map, Content Rater and User Tools.

Tabbed Content - A layout allows you to highlight collectively categorised topics together on your site.
Table List - Is a clear way to display your documents on a page.
Text Box - The Text plugin allows you to place a self-contained text box anywhere on your page.
3rd Level Navigation Bar - This Plugin is an extra layer of Navigation that will appear as a left-hand Navigational area on all sub-level pages.
Toggle Form - Is quite different in its presentation as compared to the normal form and usually appears in a collapsed state.
Trac Feed - An application that is used by organisations to advertise their various vacant positions.
Twitter Feed - This Social Board plugin allows you to add direct feeds from any Twitter account. This can be useful to give your site visitors up-to-date information and help to drive traffic to your social media accounts.

User Tools - A 'System' Plugin that allows users to sign in/out of your site, update their own user accounts, and gives them the ability to save favourite pages.

Version History - This feature allows you to view and edit previous versions of your content, as well as the ability to revert back to any selected version if need be.
Video - This Plugin enables site Admins to easily pull in a video from various third-party hosting services. Instructional videos can be a helpful way to get across key information quickly and clearly to your users.
Video Header Layout - Can be used to add a short Muted Video Header to any page within your site. This will pull in content from an uploaded MP4 File that would then display as a short muted video clip on a loop.

Website Doman Names - Our website domains end nhs.wales or gig.cymru, these domains are used for consistency across all NHS Wales sites and are created & managed by our team.
Welsh Language Standards - The Welsh Language Measure 2011 establishes Welsh as an official language in Wales, requiring it to be treated no less favourably than English. The Welsh language Standards (WLS) require that many organisations in Wales provide services, correspondence & documents in both English & Welsh.

XML Site Map - An XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.

YouTube - The YouTube plugin allows you to easily pull in a video from this third-party hosting service, no matter the size.
