Why Isn't My Page Live?

  • You may have selected your Page to Go Live at a Later Date - Content Scheduling
  • Pages Go Live according to the Publish Date set within the Scheduling Tab > Check that you have selected Yes
  • Maybe your Page is still in Draft Select the Content Item > Select the Latest Draft > and Publish

 

Why Can't the Public See The Page?

  • Maybe your Page is still in Draft Select the Content Item > Select the Latest Draft > and Publish
  • Have you set the page not to display? within the Scheduling Tab > Check that you have selected Yes

Why Can't I publish Any Content?

  • You may have been placed within an Authors Group. For further permissions, you would need to contact a Local Site Admin.
  • Editors - Are able to Write Content, as well as Publish Content. This means they can create, update, publish & delete content
  • Authors - Can only Write Content. This means they can create new & update existing content but are unable to publish or delete.

How Do I add Special Characters in my text?

  • You may need to use special characters for Welsh Text. The CK Editor has an option to insert special characters into your content. 
  • If you are writing up a lot of Welsh content then you could benefit from adding an optional Welsh Language Keyboard to your Desktop or Brower Extension. Please log a call with your Local I.T Team to get these installed. 

Why Isn't My Uploaded Content Appearing in the Site Structure?

  • This may be due to the Image/File size exceeding the system's Maximum Upload Limit. 
  • You may need to compress your Image/File in order to successfully complete your upload.

Why Am I Having Copy & Paste Issues?

  • Any text that you paste from Word needs to be word stripped to remove any background formatting inherited from the Word document.
  • You can do this using the Copy and Paste keys available on your Rich Text Editor

Why Am I Having Issues adding content into my Container Plugin?

  • When adding a Layout/Plugin to sit within a Container, you will need to be precise and only drop the item when you can see the 2 red lines appear on the Container plugin.

How Can I Recover Deleted Content?

  • You will need to log a call with DHCW to request this by completing our Query Form. Please include as much detail as possible.

How Do I Correct A Misspelt Word?

  • If using Edit Layout on the front of your site, any misspelling will automatically correct itself
  • In Chrome, if you misspell a word you can bring up the spell check box by using Ctrl + Right Click

Can I Have An Interactive Map on my Website?

  • Yes, you can use the Multi-Point Map Plugin
  • Or, You can log a call with DHCW to request this. In order for us to undertake this work we would need the following information:
    • A Good Clear Image 
    • Clear Instruction on the Size/Shape of each area you would like to make Interactive
    • A Full List of URLs and Instructions on where the links will go on the Map

Attempting To Amend A Page title but get a 500 error?

  • Your URL file string is too long.  The URL string for all pages and documents should be 255 characters or less. The more content you add under your page structure the longer the URL string becomes. So if you want to amend a page title at a later date and it pushes it over 255 characters it will break. Tips on how to avoid this:
    • Shorten the URL Title of a page within the structure to keep it under 255 characters, this will then allow you to amend the page title
    • Invisible folders do not need long titles - keep them short and relevant
    • Review your page titles - do they really need to be so long?
    • Review the Structure of your content to create shorter URLs
