What to Expect


 

Fixed items created for you

The following items will be created for you. These items are to ensure a consistent look and feel across all NHS Wales sites. This will allow visitors to easily identify that they are using an official NHS Wales site, and ensure that users have a similar user experience, regardless of which NHS Wales site they are using.

 

Front End
  • Top left - your organisation's Logo
  • Top right - The Primary Headers - to other NHS sites
  • Underneath your Primary Headers - Secondary Headers
  • Underneath your Secondary Headers - the site Search Bar
  • The Navigational Bar (blue) will then span your site 
  • The Secondary Navigational Bar will appear in grey
  • Footer Links - Set on a blue background at the bottom of the site
Back End
  • 404 and 500 pages. These are both error message pages that will appear to your users if an error occurs with your website or if the user enters a URL that does not exist within your site.
  • Asset Buckets for - Links, Files, and Images
  • Standard Use of Site pages - These are created as placeholders that you will then need to amend with your organisation's localised information.

 
Items you will need to amend or create

Header/Secondary Header Links - There will be some default links set up, which you are able to amend/remove as desired. 


The Navigational Bar - Will have default items displayed on the Navigational Bar. You will need to amend/remove these to populate them with your site content where appropriate.


Footer links - These will be set up to link to information about Accessibility, Terms of Use, Freedom of Information, and Privacy Policy. These will display generic content that you will need to alter with your organisation's localised information.


The Cookie Message - This will display a default cookie notice to your users. You are able to amend this message should you wish to.


General Content - There will be a number of default content items placed within your site and home page. This is in order to showcase how some of the Plugins/layouts can be displayed. However, it is your responsibility to populate your site as you see fit.


 

 
Items Local Admins are responsible for

User Permissions - It is the responsibility of the content manager to ensure your users have the correct permission levels required.


Plug-in modules - There are a wide variety of Plugins available, these can all be customised by content managers.


Content - Local content managers are responsible for the creation and maintenance of all content with your site.


Translated Content - Local content managers are responsible for the creation and maintenance of all Welsh language content on your sites.


Images - It is the responsibility of content managers to ensure you have appropriate permissions for the images used on their site or they are copyright free.


Go Live - Sites can remain offline whilst development takes place and can be activated within 5 working days of an email activation request to: rfw-web@wales.nhs.uk.
