Colour Contrast

Colour contrast between text and background is important on web pages. It affects some people’s ability to perceive the information.

Colour Contrast between text and background is critical to accessible web design. Proper contrast ensures that all users, including those with visual impairments or colour blindness, can perceive and understand the information presented.

Colour is not to be used as the only means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element. Instructions provided for understanding and operating content must not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, size, visual location, orientation, or sound.
